Should internet be banned in school?

Computer networks provide ease cooperation among computer users. The computer network transformation of data between computers can be doneeasily and quickly. Therefore the effectiveness and efficiency can be achieved that eventually becomes higher productivity.Computer technology has penetrated into various fields including education. Most schools have computers to speed up the work process administrative and academic. In fact there are utilizing technologies in computerto support the learning process. Computers used as a medium to conveyscientific concept becomes more attractive and readily accepted by the students. Not only that's it, it's been a lot of schools that have computer networksintegrate local network to the intranet and internet. Even toenabled mobile phone technology and services for the learning processschools to parents and the community outside the school.

Internet (computer network) has become the most complete communication tool today, because in the internet we can get whatever information we need such as politics, religion, entertainment, science and much more that we can get. Benefits of the internet for our school, as a place to find information about science and technology or about what happened. Information from the internet that we can not only include information in the country, we also can find information from abroad.

When students have the ability to use the internet at school, they can quickly find almost any information needed for homework or other assignments. Without the Internet is available, the only option students have is to go to the school library, where the number of books is limited, on some subjects. Accessing the Internet is very useful for students when they have to collect a variety of sources for a research paper. Students may spend less time researching and more time putting together a well-written paper and informative.

Although many people think that those who use the Internet often develop a lack of social skills, this is not always true. Students in a class tend to enjoy and learn from communicating with other classes through email or chat rooms. Students may be able to chat with kids from other countries, which allows them the opportunity to socialize and learn about other cultures at the same time. Shy students are very likely to benefit from this, because chatting online does not involve face-to-face interaction. It can build their confidence levels when they realize that having a conversation with someone else does not have to be difficult or uncomfortable.

Internet provides a lot of educational material, but also has many sites where students can spend their time. Hundreds of websites allow users to play, annoying and time-wasting online games, and social networking sites, such as MySpace and Facebook, it can also be a major distraction. Students can also use the Internet for legitimate ways, such as research, only to find a website that is more interesting to see that there is nothing to do with their work. Often, however, the school can set filters that block students from accessing some of the most popular online disorders.

It is relatively easy to block adult material online, such as web sites depicting pornography, profanity and violence, but usually there is an opportunity for students to stumble upon something that Internet filters do not catch. And while the Internet can be a great place for kids to meet new people in a chat room, these places are sometimes watched by child predators. Such people lurking in chat rooms, sometimes pretending to be a child, to lure children into a false sense of security. Children can then be required to disclose information about themselves or even meet with the predator. Many chat rooms can be blocked, but the site is bad and sometimes people find a way to slip through the cracks.

From the elaboration above, it can be concluded that internet should not be banned. The reason is the students who abuse the internet will have a detrimental impact on the school and himself, and the impact will be felt first over itself. However, compared with the positive side that is able to put to good use by student achievement will benefit the school and the individual.
